There are so many events that happen within the campus that it is very difficult to attend each of those events. I have signed up in spirit for so many events, that I really wish I could be a superwoman who could attend those events. At this point, I'd get inspired to go for two events that I surely want to attend. One is the Duke Start-UP Challenge, and the other is the White Party.
At the white party, I want to meet a lot of first years, to experience the personalities that make a spirited class of 2011. I've heard that they are a smart bunch of people.
As of today, I am excited to attend the Duke Start Up Challenge, and listen to the one minute pitch by so many teams at Fuqua. There could potentially be a next big idea that would come from Duke. If Facebook was funded by two Harvard graduates(I think), why could we not start an online drug store for the competitive Type As here.
I have spent evenings with Kane Snyder, a classmate who shared about staying up and keeping up with all that is thrown at him, in addition to taking care of his two kids. I really feel the married classmates have to be superparents to keep
up to the pressure of school and beyond. It would be interesting if we can propose a therapy plan in addition to a drug store to make our dreams come true.
Accomplishing a dream is tough. If I need to complete assignments, and keep up with applications for getting a job, I need 48 hours in a day. How would we get that time
if we are not inspired to think differently. If we continue to meet new people, and hear new ideas of managing demands of an international student, we will grow as a person. Growing as a person, will help us adjust to the corporate america demands better, when we join the workforce. It would be a good way to prepare ourselves for the real roles.
