a year since I graduated
A year since I graduated, and it all feels like a nice, long dream that seems to have stayed with me through the last year ! It's difficult to leave few moments of your life behind us, especially if they involve suffering mixed with happiness, hardwork, risktaking, laurels, stress, inspiration, competition and a stage to apply all the smartness. It's one thing to be book smart, but what happens if the book smarts, and street smarts participate in a class and toss ideas to create some rare energy- it creates memories that are life-changing; One would love to stick by those; Looking back at my Raleigh , Durham days at Duke, I feel that those two years of accelerated learning has changed me as a business executive; I don't act without thinking, and I don't think without acting; Those days when I'd to catch up with my team to finish assignments; try to be as smart as the next person in the team; make up for participation in the class, or give back to clubs(marketing and others), and help contribute to the institution by staying active and abreast of new things were all a part of making me aware of the different variables that do get thrown at us; We either sit, and get overwhelmed by all that is thrown at us or get up and oil our machinery (in many cases our intellect, wit, and abilities) to face the challenges. If inspiring names in the Association of Women conference, and Jamie Dimon, does not give us excitement than what does; well- a year since I graduated, and the change that those two years have had on me is profound; I have also made friends in a lot of new countries and can proudly call myself a global citizen; Hoping that I keep my learning alive in different situations, and strive to make perspectives less myopic, and more global... Till next time....
